USAJOBS · Job alerts
Choose daily alerts for fast-moving searches
USAJOBS offers daily, weekly or monthly email alerts. Its guidance recommends daily emails for specific or competitive searches because some announcements close quickly or after an application limit. Read each announcement’s closing conditions.
You can maintain up to 10 USAJOBS alerts. Use separate alerts for different job types or locations. Broaden keywords or reduce filters when results are too narrow.
USAJOBS alerts remain active for one year unless updated or renewed. Review alert settings in your profile, confirm your email address and check spam folders if notifications stop.
Ask about the referral process before relying on it
If you know a SpaceX employee who knows your work, ask whether a referral process is available for the role and how it works. Follow the current employer instructions and get permission before naming anyone. We have not verified an official preference for referred applicants; a referral is not a job guarantee.
Use the JPL career resource linked in this guide, then read the employer and application instructions on the specific posting. Keep its application record separate from federal applications so you can track the right portal and contact.
Track the title, employer, requisition number, official link, worksite and date applied. Save a copy of the public posting for your own reference so you can prepare if the page later closes. Submit only through the employer’s stated process.
Use plain language for military roles and acronyms. Connect your actual experience to the posting’s duties with specific examples and truthful results. Follow the posting’s current resume and document instructions; do not include classified or sensitive information.
Try several titles for the same skill: scheduler, program planner, project coordinator, operations analyst or program support. Search by a skill and a region as well as by company name. Similar titles can have different duties and requirements.
When contacting someone in the industry, explain which type of work interests you and ask one focused question about their experience or a public resource. Build a professional connection and let the person decide whether they can offer an introduction.
Choose “Share a helpful nugget” in the feedback form. Tell us the resource, your tip, its public source or your firsthand experience, and when you used it. You can choose whether to receive public credit.
Every submission is reviewed before publication. We may edit for clarity, verify a source, ask for context or decline a tip. Contact emails stay out of published tips. Without explicit permission for a display name, contributions are published without a name.
Share only public, non-sensitive information. Do not submit resumes, private employee details or confidential employer material. To correct or request removal of a tip, send its page link through the same form.
